Badocks Wood, Brentry And Southmead

This circular walk is full of interest.

We start by walking through Badocks Wood, cross the River Trym and follow paths to open ground near the former Brentry Hospital.

We continue through Brentry Woods before stopping for a short refreshment break at the Pen Park Open Space. We pass the Pen Park Hole, a site of special scientific interest, then on to Filton Golf course, Pen Park playing fields and Fonthill Park.

A stretch of road walking follows before we join the footpath along the River Trym back to Badocks Wood to return to the start.

Mainly flat, with two short uphill sections.

Buses to the start: 2/2A, 10, 11. Bus stop is Henleaze lake.
