A varied evening circular walk which climbs intriguingly from beside the River Avon to the top of the Downs and back again without ever being too demanding.
From Sea Mills Station we will walk beside the river before heading into woodlands and on to the delightful Sneyd Park Nature Reserve and its picturesque lake. We will then head across to see the Wicker Whales before heading up through the Bishops Knoll arboretum and hanging gardens.
Next stop is the Sea Walls, with those wonderfully Bristolian vistas, followed by a peek into Goat Gully. We return via historic Pitch and Pay Lane and Mariners Way, eventually returning to our start point beside the River Trym.
Parts of the walk could be muddy, and there are some short, steep ascents. Buses to the start: 10, 3, 4 and Portway Park and Ride.
