This strenuous walk covers undulating countryside north of Cardiff.

Highlights include the exterior of the ‘fairy tale’ castle of Castle Coch, views of a traditional defensive castle from the top of Caerphilly Mountain and views over the Severn estuary.

There is an opportunity to enjoy a lunchtime drink at the pub stop.

Meet at the entrance to Temple Meads railway station.

Contribution to petrol 10p per mile.

Challenging - suitable for experienced walkers able to walk longer distances over mixed terrain and gradients. Likely to include stiles; brisk pace. Take a packed lunch Nature and wildlife
