Description

Explore some of Clifton’s celebrated and lesser-known sites on a walking tour that traces Clifton’s development. You will learn how the Hotwell Spa initially drove its growth, inspiring several spectacular Georgian buildings that look like they’re straight out of a Jane Austen novel. You’ll see the Clifton Suspension Bridge, a funicular railway and several impressive squares and terraces that were built as the area further developed in Victorian times.

The walk is self-guided using the free VoiceMap app and your smartphone’s GPS, so you go at your own pace and can divert as your fancy takes. Plug in your earphones, put your phone away and enjoy the tour!

There are plenty of opportunities for refreshments, photographs, shopping or simply to enjoy the green spaces and to people-watch as artists and students go about their lives in this eclectic village in the city.

Walk is every day, any time.
