We have an ecological emergency! – but local residents in Sea Mills and Shirehampton are working hard to support nature recovery in our areas. This walk will begin at Sea Mills station, and will take you round Sea Mills meadows, with an opportunity to hear about the nature recovery work taking place in the grassland areas and in the Trym itself. The walk will continue up the Severn Way, alongside the Avon, to Shirehampton Park and onwards to the Lamplighters’ Pub.
We will stop for a picnic (please bring your own refreshments) and will then walk on to the Daisy Field, to see how the local sustainability group is working with the council on several major projects. Walkers can either take the train back from Shirehampton (approx. 2.30pm), or retrace footsteps to Sea Mills.
Please note: This is a stop-and-start walk and may not satisfy serious hikers!
