Description

‘Another fabulous tour’ – Kathryn Davis, MD Visit West

“Everybody wants to be Cary Grant. Even I want to be Cary Grant.”

Hear the extraordinary story of Cary Grant as you walk the streets he loved.

Born Archie Leach in Bristol in 1904, he rose from poverty to become the most famous – and best dressed – movie star in the world.

But he never forgot his Bristol roots, returning regularly all his life.

This 90-minute walking tour reveals the landscapes of his childhood, and the changed Bristol he found after the Second World War.

Bristol docks, the city’s theatres and cinemas, hotels, shops and restaurants – all the places he came back to time and time again, places that forged his complex character and glittering Hollywood career.

And interwoven throughout: a family background as potent as that landscape.

In partnership with Cary Comes Home festival.
