With stops to discuss the landscape and history along its route and the nature and management of Bristol’s public rights of way network, this half-day walk largely follows historic rights of way, taking in riverside paths, woodland walks and old lanes. The walk starts and finishes outside the churchyard of St. Mary’s, Fishponds. The route is mainly level on unmade paths with a number of stepped climbs and descents and some urban walking on pavements. There are some fallen tree trunks which need to be negotiated on one section.
