Description

Enjoy the countryside and beautiful views on this 3 mile walk in the Publow valley.

The walk will take place across the site of Avon Needs Trees’ developing ‘Great Avon Wood’ where we have been planting thousands of young trees over the last three winters.

See the woodland as it starts to take shape amongst the other habitats at the site – meadows, hedgerows and streams.

The walk will also take in other landscape features as it crosses the route of the old Bristol and North Somerset Railway, passes the ancient Publow Oak, and meets a section of the Wansdyke – a post-Roman defensive earthworks.

This walk is aimed at adults and young people who feel able to cover the 3 mile route which includes slopes and uneven ground.

There are no hard-standing paths at Great Avon Wood and we are not able to allow dogs at events, except for assistance dogs.
