Home Walking Activity Providers Friends of Bristol Suburban Railways

FoSBR was formed in 1995 as Friends of the Severn Beach Railway by local people who wished to protest against the potential demise of the Severn Beach Line.

Since then we have widened our scope to campaign for better rail services for the Bristol area, as Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways.

We now have over 200 members, and continue to campaign for new, more frequent services and new lines in the Bristol area.

We promote the use of local rail for both commuter and leisure use.  Public transport is an excellent way of extending the reach for local walkers.

A friend of FoSBR has kindly compiled a selection of 10 walks from the Severn Beach Line. John Beales is a walk leader with Bristol Amblers who operate a free and friendly walking group within Walking for Health under the auspices of The Ramblers.
