Ahead of the official launch event, Sheila Hannon and Gerard Cooke from Show of Strength Theatre led us on an exclusive pre-launch walk through the city centre – a specially created taster of their acclaimed walks programme.

We started right where we met, at the Hole in the Wall pub on Queen Square.
It was a beautiful sunny day and conversations were already flowing as we entered the Square.
Gerard shared the Georgian history of the square.
And we saw the Alms House on King Street.
Sheila gave us snippets of the Cary Grant tour as we stopped in the Centre looking over to the Hippodrome.
We walked up the wide, historic Corn Street…
…before entering the supremely narrow and graffiti-ed Leonard Lane.
Then back into the light again as we crossed Small Street…
… to stop at the bottom of Broad Street, looking down and through the City wall – towered over by Conor Harrington’s dramatic street art, The Duel of Bristol. 
 Back into the lanes to admire the juxtaposition of modern and historic architecture.
Up the steps to pause in the green of St John’s Churchyard.
Down the granite slope of St Johns Steep…
… and back into the modern world of Nelson Street.
Right in the middle of the bustle and a welcome from the Galleries.
The entered the calm and cool of the beautiful barrel-vaulted Victorian glazed arcade.
Across the busy Haymarket and up to the calm of St James Priory for the official group photo. 
The Bear Pit looked gorgeous in the early evening sunshine.
Through the underpass before joining Stokes Croft for the speeches at Hamilton House.
